International Cargo Bike Festival 2014
After a succesfull event last year, we now celebrate the
International Cargo Bike Festival 2014 over two days, 12 and 13th of April.
On Saturday 12 April, the European Cyclelogistics Federation
will have its Conference, organised by me, Jos Sluijsmans and Gary Armstrong of
Outspoken Delivery from Cambridge, UK. The conference is meant for the members
of the Cyclelogistics Federation, but is also free and open to other interested
people. However for the conference you’ll have to register with Gary.

On Sunday 13th April the Cargo Bike Festival will take place
together with the Open Door Day of the cultural and creative plant ‘De Vasim’.
The Cargo Bike Festival is intended for designers, manufacturers and retailers
to present their products. There is lots of space to try and test the cargo
bikes. There will be lots of DIY-builders of classic and innovative cargo
bikes.
Velocity Fietskoeriers from Nijmegen will organise a competition for
professional users of cargo bikes.
On the website of Fietsdiensten.nl you will find photos,videos and articles of last years event
This year there will be more emphasis on professional users
and businesses. But ofcourse, parents and children and private persons are more
than welcome as well. We’ll have several activities for children.
The food will be organised by Hans Kooijman of ‘Op vuur en vlam’ (On fire and flames) and his pizza oven cargo bike ‘Il forno mobile’. A
‘grill and bak-fiets’ and other culinary cargo bikes.
We invite you to participate at the International Cargo Bike
Festival by taking a booth. The costs are
€300,- ex VAT. Booths will be situated under the new bridge
‘the Crossing’. You can bring your own booth. A standard place is 4x4m. When
you need more, let us know on time. We can probably arrange something. We are also still looking for sponsors.
